Ancient Water Management system discovered in Jordan



Archaeologists from the University of Leiden have discovered an impressive network of ancient water management system close to the city of Petra in Jordan. The system, which could be close to 2000 years old, allowed residents to conserve water and irrigate their field systems.

The discoveries were made by the Udhruh Archaeological Project team, which is a joint venture between Jordan’s Al-Hussein Bin Talal University and the University of Leiden
